Introduction:

The Advisory Council of the Pleasant Valley Neighborhood for Learning announces the formation of a new affiliated nonprofit organization, Steps to Our Future, Inc. The nonprofit was established to create greater awareness and opportunity for sustainability of the Pleasant Valley Neighborhood for Learning’s programs and services for families with young children prenatal to age 5 in Camarillo and Somis.

Steps to Our Future, Inc. received tax exempt status on March 22, 2010. The Board of Directors includes: Janice Rossi, Community Development Director for Girl Scouts of California's Central Coast, Barbara E. Wagner, community volunteer and founding member of the Pleasant Valley Neighborhood for Learning, Elizabeth "Betsy" Quintero, Director of Early Childhood Education at California State University Channel Islands, Herbert Howard Detrick II, a self-employed lawyer and former teacher, Shane Saunders, Vice President of Marketing and Sales with Pacific Oaks Federal Credit Union, and Robin Folino, tax consultant with Five Star Tax & Financial Services of Camarillo.
